2010 Road Program

Phase 1 of the 2010 Village of Inverness Road Program is scheduled to start the week of June 9th.  This year’s plan will provide for the resurfacing of over 5.5 miles of Village streets.  The work includes the replacement of certain cross-road culverts and other excavation work. Pavement removal and/or patching will follow.  Any needed driveway adjustments will be made to conform to the new pavement elevation.  After the final surface is installed, streets will receive edge striping and the landscape shoulders will be restored.  Approximately one week before work is started; residents living along those streets to be resurfaced will be notified in writing by the Village.  Signs will also be posted in advance of any construction activity.

In addition, 5,000 square yards of pavement patching will be completed on various streets throughout the Village.  Work on the patching streets will progress rather quickly, with pavement being removed on one day and generally being fully replaced the same day.  Streets will be open to local traffic during all construction operations.

A link to a map of the Program can be found at the end of the narrative.  Information on the status of the project will be updated periodically as work progresses.  The project should be substantially completed by September 6, 2010 but is weather dependent.  Landscape restoration may be delayed until spring of 2011 for more optimal growing conditions.

The Village awarded the contract to Chicagoland Paving Contractors located in Lake Zurich, Illinois.  The Village has engaged Gewalt Hamilton Associates, Inc. (GHA), a consulting engineering firm, to oversee construction activities. The resident engineer in the field is Mr. Dave Marquardt. If you have any questions or concerns during and after the construction, please contact Mr. Marquardt at 847-344-4492 or dmarquardt@gha-engineers.com.

As noted above, updates will be provided to keep residents informed of the project’s progress. Please check this site regularly for updates to the construction schedule
